Live Colour XXL

Anyone used this? I'm wanting to dye my hair either the Cyber Purple or Mystic Violet shade. I've spoken to my hairdresser (who has dyed my hair lots of times before, and has done streaks of purple with her own dye) and she says she sees no problem with it going onto my hair, and has offered to do it this time since I've never used a home dye kit. So, what do you think, anyone else used these colours, or any others?

I coloured mine cyber purple about a month ago, its more red than purple, nothing like the box. I've used the XXL live dyes a few times and each time they go on quite patchy, also you dont get much dye in the bottle, i only have bobbed hair and nearly didnt have enough. Its just starting to fade now and i have roots, thats after washing it 3/4 times a week and using dry shampoo which i think is very good.

I was given one at work and it went on patchy, but I think that was because my hair was below the shoulder at the time. I prefer L'Oreal Feria or for more subtle colours the Boots own-brand seems OK.

I used a live colour last time I did my hair, and to be honest I've never been more disappointed with a home dye.

I always use two boxes because my har is thick, so no patchiness, but I used a colour from the 'Hot reds' range, described as dark spice, and a very rich deep red on the box - and what it gave me was dark brown, very boring looking hair.

I was extremely pissed off. If I wanted dark brown hair, I'd have dyed it brown, not red!

I'd suggest one of the Feria colours. They are MUCH better.

Another one that suggest the Feria range.
I've done colours ranging from reds, purples and blue blacks out of the XXL line and they all were crap! Faded and dull within a few weeks.

Feria kept the blue black hint for weeks before fading slightly into pure black.

Just to totally go against the grain here, but I've used Live Colour XXL for years and think it's great! I use Red Passion at the minute, but have also used Cyber Purple which gave my dark brown hair a fab deep purple colour. It did look very dark at first, unless in bright light, but it does fade a fair bit and looks nicer then IMO.

I have thick bobbed hair and haven't had any issues with patchiness, even when my hair was longer.

Feria are very good too though, I have to admit. I think they do a purpley one as well.

I use Live Colour XXL every time I dye my hair and I have always loved the results. Its the only brand that does the colours bright enough for me.
