Brazilian Keratin Treatment - would you do this yourself?

I've read about this treatment here, but I can't afford the salon price.

The product is for sale on ebay, so I'm tempted to give it a try myself. There are lots of youtube tutorials, and it seems straightforward.

Would you do it?

Possibly - it doesn't look that complicated when they do it in a salon!

Difficult to do yourself but a friend did mine. Came out great and still looks good 3 months on. She had done it a few times before though. And she's Brazilian!

I really wouldn't, I had it done in a salon and it really makes your eyes sting. I had to shut my eyes and they were streaming.

It's annoying that it's so expensive though...

What 2 girls I know of did was say to a salon will you do us both and knock 15 off the cost for both of us, if not we will go to *&^%$. salon said ok. that was an independent salon.

Thanks for your opinions.

Streaming eyes, not good!

The salons must be making a fortune off this treatment.

Any other experiences / opinions?

Here's a tip to save you money. If the salon tries to flog you a condition, don't worry you can use any conditioner. You only need the special sodium free shampoo, normal conditioner doesn't have sodium in it anyway..

Thanks, I'm always a sucker for "professional" product recommendations!
