Vintage style jewellery

It's my 40th birthday on Friday and I'd like some jewellery - probably earrings. I'm not after anything massively fancy or expensive, just something a bit different. I've previously got some lovely earrings set with peridot (birthstone) when we've been on holiday in Scotland, but this year we didn't get chance to go shopping.

I don't mind if I don't have them for Friday because I know DH and the DC have got a few other things already.

If anyone has any recommendations for websites or other ideas, I'd be grateful.

Ta.

Glitzy Secrets?

Maybe not posh enough though.

I don't really have an idea about vintage jewellery, but I know there is an excellent place in London - Hatton Gardens - which has a huge selection of shops selling both new and old items. If you fancy a trip to the capital and enjoy jewellery shopping, I think you will love the choice. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I adore Butler & Wilson, the website isn't the easiest to shop from, if you're near London then it's well worth a visit. They're not expensive (£30-£80) but have some lovely, very different designs.

Where abouts are you? If nr. Lincs, this place has the best and cheapest antique & vintage jewellery I have ever come across.

If nearer London, try Alfie's antiques in Edgware road or Camden passage in Angel.

Thanks for the replies. I've only had chance to look at Glitzy Secrets and have bookmarked a pair of earrings to look at later. Should have said I'm in the north west of England!

Have to go - DH is nagging me to help with the cleaning and tidying up as "we've got people coming on Friday". Grin

These people look interesting, though I haven't bought from them.

I like this Smile

Happy birthday!

If you are in the NW, it really is worth a trip to Helmswell- they also sell online but have much more jewellery at better prices in store.

If you do go there, tell them I want bloody commission Grin
