What do you wear to a Blessing?

Have been invited to a Blessing in a church then afterwards at a hotel... It's at the end of September, what should I wear??

Is the hotel the big stately home kind or the travelodge kind?

Hmm, not sure about the hotel, will have to google it. Don't think it's a stately home type though...

Ok, just checked. Def not Stately Home, I would say pub come hotel... Middle of the road prices...

So you don't want the big hat and frock then.

If it were me I'd go for a good jacket over trousers (or a dress or skirt if your legs are better than mine ). September looks like it'll be cold and wet so you might need the layers, esp. if walking between church and hotel. Colours like aubergine or teal green would be nice if they suit you, and some texture to the jacket or in your accessories maybe.
