I need some proper, solid, beautiful leather knee boots please before Autumn

I got some Fly Mols last year and they have stretched so much they are flopping around on my feet and legs which is really sad, because I only really got them for the close fit round my skinny ole calves.

I have got a pair of Andalucian riding boots which do not fit (finally admitted it - they're too big) and a pair of boots from Hobbs sale which are also like buckets.

what I am after is a close fitting, really nice quality, thick leather pair of boots which come up below the knee, are fairly round toed, and will last without stretching or whatever.

I love Camper boots I have seen on some US websites but can't seem to find any over here.

Has anyone got any ideas? Will pay quite a bit if necessary for a really good pair, as I will wear them all the time. currently stuck in my Toggi horse boots which though great are a bit high, and a bit scruffy!

Thankyou for any suggestions.

i think duo do thin as well as fat boots.
the camper site only has sale at the moment - have you actually tried any on from there? i know campers shoes are fairly wide fitting, not sure on the boots.

These any good?

Flighttattendant · 13/08/2010 21:23

Thankyou gals, the style I like particularly is something like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=farm1.static.flickr.com/138/398969540_40a81def8e.jpg&imgrefurl=alanbell.wordpress.com/2007/02/22/new-camper-shoes/&usg=__6OuxuJDRBYQ27CbDyr9jss-R0gM=&h=354&w=323&sz=24&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=kdsM2BdIYG_rJM:&tbnh=164&tbnw=173&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcamper%2Bboots%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1124%26bih%3D839%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=331&vpy=391&dur=15&hovh=235&hovw=214&tx=90&ty=102&ei=PallTOzKOYiSOPjG3fwM&oei=PallTOzKOYiSOPjG3fwM&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:11,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

(not sure if will come up! googl;e has changed a bit hasn't it)

I really like the thick soles and interesting details. There seems to be nothing like them in the current collection or preview Sad

Yes, \link{http://www.duoboots.com/products/boots/\Duo} does boots for narrow as well as wide calves, so should be a good place to look.

Have you looked at Dune online?

florenceuk · 13/08/2010 22:45

If you look online at www.camper.com they have not yet got their boots up yet - give it a few weeks? They will deliver to the UK. Some camper boots on Amazon and also yoox.com

faustina · 13/08/2010 23:32

they're very expensive, but have you had a look at www.penelopechilvers.com ? Sorry don't seem to be able to do links at the moment.

They mostly seem very slim fitting. Look for the long tassel boot. Hope you find something!

walkingboots · 14/08/2010 02:01

Look on Yoox for Campers. Fair bit of similar stuff as well when you do searches under boots.

Like these

and these

and even these

and these . . . .

They sell camper boots on www.amazon.co.uk

Happy hunting!

Flighttattendant · 14/08/2010 09:07

Thanks all, I have looked at Dune - also Yoox but do they deliver to the UK? I didn't think they did. They have some great stuff though Smile

Thanks for the ideas, I love the tassel boot on Penelope Chilvers but it's a bit too much ££!! I didn't realise Camper didn't have their full range up yet - that's really good to know, I'll try them again in a few weeks.

I will go and look at Amazon now Smile

Yoox definitely deliver to UK (make sure you are in the UK version of the site) - I think it cost me £6 but they have free returns.

Flighttattendant · 14/08/2010 09:47

Brilliant - thankyou Smile

Have Duo Boots, but I found them terrible quality for the price.

Flighttattendant · 14/08/2010 12:51

Oh that's a shame. I always thought they looked as though they would be quite posh!

I've got 2 pairs from Duo - both have been great - one pair is on at least its 5th year, the other about its 3rd. With re-heeling as necessary, obviously.

moondog · 14/08/2010 15:48

I got a pair just like you describe from Russell & Bromley.
I've had them for three years now and they look great. I plan to wear them for a good few more.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/08/2010 17:16

maybe they have got worse recently? Mine lasted a few months
