can we talk hairdressers? do you ever say you don't like it?

I find a good hairdresser, they do it great twice and then they fuck it, every time. With me its my roots, tey leave a line across the front of my hair. I never tell them, I just go home and cry.

I know someone who once said 'you'll have to wash it again because I can't possibly go out looking like this'. Much respect for the balls.

If they can do something about it you absolutely should tell them. It's their job to make your hair look nice. Do you give specific instructions at the beginning?

i think to myself-no point I'm going straight home to shove my head in the shower

I said I would like it dried to look natural and choppy/flicky-various hand signals etc and she murmured and nodded as if she understood-she's obv deaf

I have before but felt uber akward about it. Definitely with a blowdry though, it's easily fixable - my ginger highlights werem't quite so easily fixed

I had my hair permed when i was 11 (what was i thinking) and the girl who did was fired, apparently this was the last straw for the owner and my big fizz head was the last straw. My mum called up and complained. we got a refund and vouchers. I wanted this

they should obviously have been supervising their trainees more.

I once received a "Crystal Carrington" from my regular stylist but slightly more bouffant.
I knew it would wash out/the hairspray would eventually degrade.
I unveiled it to my friends and my, how we all laughed (or they least they did).
I went back to him for years afterwards though as I don't know what possessed him that day.

I'm usually happy with haircuts, but sometimes on my next visit will say "didn't like my fringe- too clumpy" or words to that effect.
I have had some horrors though, and have sat there traumatised as I view the damage. Short layers sticking up like a hedgehog, too short fringes, that awful "spotty" effect when they highlight short hair then cut it.
And of course coming out looking like Deidre Barlow.

Do you find that hairdressers can get over famililiar with you and hence, give you a crapper cut?

Ive found that they start off great, you go back to the person a couple of times but, they either get lazy or think that because you are chatty and friendly with them they can just gossip and not concentrate?

Maybe its just me....

yh kittya that happened with my last cut - she's done 2 really fab ones and i only wanted a trim this time but she gave me a completely different cut!
i hated it and am now trying to work out how to tell her so i don't get same next time.

same with me. The first cut the guy gave me was fab, the next one not too bad but, the third one, he was that busy chatting he cut it nearly all off and its only just growing out 3 months later. I dont really want to go anywhere else because its local but you can hardly ask for someone else, can you?

Yes I've refused to pay once when i got a deidre barlow cut just before my daughters christening, tbh it was the bloody least they could do.

I have never ever ever had the colour I want. I take in a photo. I describe what I want. They listen attentively then choose a colour out of the clear blue fucking sky and give me that instead.

And I never say a fecking word.
