Game Show Interview - Help!!!

I've just been invited to attend an interview a week tomorrow for a well known saturday night tv quiz show soon to be recorded and the first thing I thought was not "wow, I could win loads of money".....it was s**t, what will I wear!

Basically, the interview (consisting of 5 minute in front of camera time, 30 mins quiz questions, face to face interview) is in a hotel in a city about an hour from where I live and my slot is two hours long.

what would you wear? Thought jeans might be too casual and look a bit like I've not bothered.

I am a 14/16 and hate my thighs and calves so anything shorter than calf isn't do-able. want to look good but feel comfy as I'm sure I'll br bricking it!

I'm not tto worried about the show if I get on - that's a month away if I'm successful.

oooh, wouldn't worry. i took the dcs for a gameshow interview in clothes they felt comfy in (clean and slightly 'nice') - something a bit current maybe - combats and a t-shirt, or do you have to be a type - you know, dowdy housewife/ WAG/ career girl...

you need to avoid black, not wear mad patterns (especially zigzags)
Wear something bright, like a slim fitting top, sparkly jewellery but not brackets that would jangle.

Yes, avoid patterns and black - otherwise anything you feel comfy in. I would prob avoid jeans but in most game shows you can't see the contestants' legs.

Ooh - that's good to know hinny - was thinking about a fat face tunic I have that is funky coral patterns to make me stand out (thought that would be a good thing if they remembered me). Okay - perhaps a more reserved black trousers and nice top and pumps then.

Let's just say in the phone interview, I had to explain what I thought of Dale Winton!

You can defo see legs as you have to walk across the studio. It's 'In It To Win It'.

Not black trousers if you can, do you have White ones? With the coral top sounds nice?

Let's just say that she said I was the first person to use the word 'cool' bacofoil.

The cameras don't like black. I was repeatedly told this by researchers when I was on a gameshow.
It would drain your colour, honest, wear colour.

I have a long maxi jade green skirt - that with a top? I haven't got a clue - I live in jeans and look like a knackered mummy most of the time and when I dress up, it's very formal for army do's......crap at the in between!

Also, this isn't the actual show so would they really care at the auditions if I wore black trousers?

Black trousers or skirt will be fine.

Yep, they will cos they'll do a screen test...you need to shine for them! :)

phew - thanks bacofoil. Will wear little red pumps to brighten up the trousers a bit.

Can you phone them and ask about the dress code - though tbh I don't htink they'll care too much. They'll give you advice on what to wear if you get through.
