What shoes would you wear in winter with a long black skirt?

I've been wearing a long black linen skirt this summer, with a plain black vest top, cropped denim jacket and black Birks or flats. I want to carry on wearing it into the winter if I can with LS top and tights under Wink

I thought it would look ok with my new boots (DMs) but tried it on today and it doesn't look right at all - the boots are a bit too 'clumpy' I think.

Any ideas? I have heeled ankle boots which look ok when I'm stood up, but a bit naff when I sit down!

How about some boots like these?

MrsMeow · 12/08/2010 19:00

Thanks dexter, I like those! I have some v similar from Next but without the laces, which look ok. I just thought it looked a bit odd when I sat down though - maybe I'm behind the times though (thinking shoe boots etc)

Thanks :) would they look ok with thick black tights do you think?

Personally I think brown/dark tan leather would go better with linen than black leather or suede.

Surely ballet flats are the way forward here? Smile

tempertemper have been wearing flats with it already, I'll have to try them on with some tights and see what they look like, thanks!

spiritmum thanks - I have some tan boots, will try them tomorrow. My DH will thank you for reminding me about them as I wont have to buy more Wink
