i havnt worn a pencil skirt for about 26 years! but ive lost a lot of weight and suit fitted things now so might give it a go. I t looks stretchy which i dont know if i like or not. It`s a shame it is not that great as i think their Autumn collection is really nice and was also quite excited when i saw the Winter one

I've noticed the baby stuff has now gone up to age 4. Is this normal?
I've a 2 year old and having to buy from the older boys range, now some lovely tops for him from the baby section.

Millie1 · 12/08/2010 20:28

Agree re OTT prices - and not much there really. Makes me shiver to even contemplate wearing short sleeves in winter Shock

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 12/08/2010 20:31

Happywheezer - the baby range started going up to age 4 from the Autumn collection. There's a new £10 off a £30 shop code kicking around in the promo/vouchers topic which can be used on the Autumn stuff.

TB I love the velvet jacket. It does look quite high shine but I think that's fab for winter evenings and, tbh, even winter daytime too.

vintage3 · 12/08/2010 20:43

i thought the velvet jacket only had halfway sleeves and was baffled .It looks long sleeved in the pics of it by itself Confused

Thank Goddess in training- you are living up to your name.
I looked at the autumn preview and didn't see the baby stuff going up to 4 . Really pleased that they do now.

Ixia · 12/08/2010 23:40

The mini-Boden stuff this year is awful, especially the winter range.

I'm a bit tempted by the purple duffel coat (the women's one), but suspect I'd look as if I was 8 going on 40.

purplepeony · 13/08/2010 08:25

Imight order the pencil skirt in velvet- not sure about the grey or the peacock, as it is LINED unlike all their other cord skirts this season. I do have a pencil skirt from 2 years back in denim which is quite nice but it's not lined and does ride up if you wear chunky tights. I also had to shorten it as even at 23 inches it was a bit frumpy for me.

If you are thinking of it, mine is not very pencil-like- more like a straight skirt- certainly not figure hugging- well, it is Boden!

I am thinking of the down jacket- anyone any opinions on that?

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 13/08/2010 09:02

You're welcome happywheezer. I have a two year old DS too, and was very pleased when they extended the range. A lot of the boys stuff seems too old for him yet. I was also really pleased the other day to discover the JL baby range goes up to age 3 despite signage in my local store saying it only goes to 24 months. I really should get out more... Grin

As you were...

nicolamumof3 · 13/08/2010 09:34

PP I like the down jacket too, i need something really warm, something longer ideally but i like it in the green, my 11yo ds said nooooo!

Cicatrice · 13/08/2010 20:23

There is absolutely nothing on it that I am tempted by. Usually I see a party dress that I like, even if I don't buy it.

And nothing for DS either. WHY do they put skulls and crossbones on boys clothes? He is a little boy, not a pirate...

purplepeony · 13/08/2010 21:36

nicola- it's not exavtly high fashion- I also think there may be cheaper versions around.

If you want longer, have you ever looked at Lands End?

nicolamumof3 · 13/08/2010 21:44

i had a longer one by o'neil year before last but it wasn't so padded may give the boden a try with the 20pc off?
