So I know about Pandora and Trollbeads.Are there any others worth looking at. I quite like the fact that I could build something personal to me.

Lovelinks are similar and a bit less expensive than Pandora.

My partner's mom bought me a pandora charm bracelet for christmas. I've only worn it about three times and the clasp's broken on it. I'm quite disappointed really. It was properly stored, not bashed or anything. The clasp just doesn't stay closed anymore so it falls off my wrist. I don't know whether it's a common problem or whether I'm just unlucky.

DH gave me a trollbeads bracelet with 2 beads on at Christmas which was part of an offer. Think it was billed as a starter kit. The beads are expensive but beautiful. The glass beads range from £20-£40 and the metal beads are £30-£50 ish for silver and the gold ones are around £200+ !!!

I love my Pandora. Many of their silver beads are $25usd and the colored glass beads are $30. It isn't too expensive. I like the idea of buying different color beads sets for different seasons. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems with my bracelet/beads and I've had mine for a few years. I think my jeweler would be more than willing to help me out if I did. I do believe that Troll has a better selection of glass beads though..

starsareshining, I think you should take it back, I'm sure they would be pleased to fix it for you. Years ago my DH (then BF) bought me a Tiffany heart & the chain broke on xmas day, it's first day of wearing. That went back no problems.

In answer to OP, I am thinking of getting a chamilia. You can buy them from Ernest Jones, but they are cheaper in the states (where I am at the mo), so thinking of getting an early xmas pressie

lovingthesun, would I still be able to do that? It was bought for Christmas last year and I don't have the receipt. I don't know whether his mom still has it. I've asked him to take it back to get it fixed but he's never gotten around to it.

I have skin allergies & I don't like to spend a lot on my jewellery as I'm likely to not be able to wear it.

But the lady at my market sells the beads at £1-£3 each - so I buy them and thread them on leather thong; that way I can have a different set for any outfit

starsareshining I would ring there head office & explain that it was a present. It would be interesting to see what there customer services are like - not great advertising if they don't fix - I'd definetly be going for a chamilia !
