HELP! Hair dye disaster!

Ghostsinthesnow · 11/08/2010 15:33

I dyed my hair "dark brown" as I was getting it back to my natural colour and had to go over the lighter parts...except its gone black. I'm taking proper pitch black so I look washed out, and I'm pale as it is, it's horrible.

Now it was only a semi permanent so I've been washing it like mad to get it out, but it really isn't budging.
Any ideas how to get this out? I really don't want to bleach.

I'm having extensions put in at the weekend (I know, I know) for my holiday and they've been bought in to match my natural colour and not this mess!

In boots they have a 'colur away' solution that takes off dye.

I heard using a dandruff shampoo also strips hair dye out of hair - good luck!

totoro I'll have a look at that! (and i love your name by the way, BIG totoro fan here!)

bluebump I was told that too, so that's what I've been using, at first all the suds were black but now they're coming out white, so it doesn't look like it's going to take out any more!

does the colour remover stuff take your greys back to their natural colour (shudders but interested, just to see how bad it is under there)
