Right, jeans, where am I going wrong?

My jeans always feel great in the changing room and first time on, but either go baggy (bum, knees) once I've worn them a few times, or shrink in length.

So, when I'm trying on, what should I be looking for?
Am I washing them incorrectly?
Any brand suggestions please?
I have a budget of around £50 a pair.

  1. Bend down and touch your toes in the changing room...any slippage?
  1. Look for good quality heavy(ish) denim to avoid knee bagging.
  1. When you take the jeans from the washing machine, stretch the legs back out by pulling as hard as you can. I've lost many a pair by not following that advice!

I'm currently enjoying River Island for the first time. Top Shop Baxter's are pretty good but I do find a lot of slip-down when i'm running around after my kids Angry.

Next time I buy i'm going for a pair which cost a lot more.

I always buy a little tighter on the waist as most jeans give during the day and longer in the leg cant stand too short jeans.

Currently have jeans from next and new look ( still losing baby weight). River island jeans wash really well and havent noticed any stretching or shrinkage.

My when not fat favourite jeans are levis and french connection.

Gap jeans are terrible for stretching and then shrinking in length, havent bought from there for a few years though, maybe they have changed. Dont tumble jeans either.

Oh don't talk to me about jeans!!

I never get it right and it's not the fact i'm wearing the wrong jeans(most of the time anyway), it's my shape.

I'm not overweight(10-12) but i'm really high waisted, with a little bum. I have shapely hips but not much shape on my thighs.
When you're this shape unfortuantely you get the dreaded 'camel toe'.Blush

I also like next and river island for jeans. I once went it to Levi and they sent me away, saying that nothing was going to fit me properly. Bloody charming! Angry

Good advice, thanks :)

I'll take a look in RI, as you've all mentioned it, and won't buy the Gap jeans I had my eye on..

And I will stretch the legs whilst they're wet Grin
