Am going to get dd a pair of red hunter wellies as a surprise. Can anyone tell me if the sizes come up big/small or just right. dd is a size 5. Thanks

Not sure about children's sizes but I have a women's pair and the sizing is roomy but not enough to go down a size IYSWIM.

So I can wear quite thick cosy socks or wellie liners and they're not too tight but no way would I get into a smaller size.

Though is she's just a 5 and can sometimes squeeze into 4.5 then maybe a 4 is better and may fit nice and snug over just a pair of tights not not warm winter socks. But if she consistently needs a 5, I'd go with that.

Sorry, probably too garbled to be of any help! Grin

Thanks for your help. Will go with the size 5.

My husband who is not overweight had to send his back as they were too narrow over the calves.

I have the neoprene lined ones. In my regular shoe size and fit comfortably on the calf even with jeans tucked in. I think the standard ones are very narrow on the calf but the Huntress wide leg version are vile and baggy!

I got given a pair as a surprise and, luckily, the sizing is spot on.

hope your dd likes them!

DH bought us all some last year, all true to size inc kids, they are snug fitting on calves and none of us are on the large size though.

I don't know, it depends on the style...the farming ones are really large, the 'originals' not so and about right for my normal shoe size.

Tempted to buy a pair but lots of the Amazon reviews say the quality isn't as good as it once was.

I love my Hunters more than any boot ever. I bet your DD will adore hers.
