I know lots of people hate them, but I really need trainer advice, what trainers do you wear?

I need them for work, and all the walking I do, and my old Diesel red trainers are a little too shabby now, and a bit, um, red, so I feel I should invest in some new ones.

The problem is I have big feet, I don't think converse look good on my big feet, with all that white. Ditto all white trainers.

I love Onitsuka Tigers, but having never owned a pair myself I don't know if, again, they will just enhance my huge feet. And I wouldn't know which colour to choose!

So just want to know what you have chosen, if you also wear trainers.

What shoe size are you?

I'm a 7/8 and wear convers, dunlop, or babycham...converse can make your feet look bigger! But dunlop dont at all and are so comfy!

adidas new yorks, love them. hard to come by now, though...

CupcakesHay · 08/08/2010 13:31

I would say it depends if you want a comfortable pair of trainers, or if you are more concerned about looking good in them, IYSWIM. I LOVE my nike Air maxs - for confort. but looking good - i can't get enough of my addidas superstars.

purplepeony · 08/08/2010 13:33

Depends on what you want htem for.
I wear these for walking- they aren't fashion trainers but they are very comfy and amazingly light. Maybe not what you mean?

Skechers.
Very like this pair
Really comfy and i don't find they look huge and they are a perfect fit. I'm a size 8 so often struggle to find shoes/trainers that are a good fit.

I'm size 8 and love my Addida Golas, not too clumpy so don't add bulk.
You can get other colour combos this was just a quick google

I'm a size 8/9 and adidas superstar trainers (which are white) make my feet look small (well smaller than normal). I like adidas campus too- I think it's the rounded but neat shape that compliments my feet.

I think office, JD sports etc stock them. Surprisingly the local independent skater shop (usually the province of teenage boys) has a good selection of some unusual colourways in a size 7 upwards.

I have some sketchers from aaages ago (well, few years) they are in great condition, and I am waiting for them to fall apart so I can get some new ones!

They are brown and in a biker type style.

I also hate white trainers - but I like mine Smile

Thanks everyone.

PurplePeony I already have good comfy walking trainers, Merrells, and love em, but would never wear them when in the city or to work Shock

Hence my dilema, I want nice funky trainers.

libra I actually like those black Adidas Golas, will add them to my 'possibles' list.

UML I used to have sktchers biker trainers, with the strap, they where grey and lacy and I wore them till they fell apart.

Puma- particularly Ferrare range

Why not go into a sports shop and ask advice.
I am lucky enough to live near what I would call a "proper" sports shop ie not discount retailler with inexperienced staff. In there they offer professional advice about running shoes etc etc.
If you can find one of these they will give you some good advice.
