in the absence of reviews online I'll have to ask MN.

Has anyone got the Greenwich Reefer in grey?
I have got the velvet pea coat in the preview and am unsure whether to keep it or swap for the Reefer.

Does the reefer look a bit too dressy in grey? I am looking for a jacket that I can wear with skinny jeans tucked into boots, and wonder just how warm the pea coat ( jacket) will be once it turns colder.

I don't have the reefer but IME anything made of velvet (read: cotton) will not be warm in winter - you need wool (or padding). I have a moleskin coat from Toast and it is definitely an autumn coat. I have a bit of a coat fetish and have moleskin for autumn, waterproof padded one from North Face for snow and really cold days, wool one for winter days from Marella, mac for autumn wet days.... etc etc. There will be loads of winter coats coming out in September if you are willing to wait.

I agree- I have a White Stuff 3/4 coat in velvet, which is okay, and a Boden Uptown coat from last year which is a full length shorter coat if that makes sense.

I suppsoe to be honest I'd like the velvet jacket for milder days, as Ihave no jacket/coat for Sept. /October weather, and a wool jacket for colder days- just trying to economise.

It's low stock already?! Shit. I was going to buy the navy one when I'd had a chance to save up a bit...

They are wool with velvet trim, aren't they? Should be warm enough. I had a similar style coat (i.e. wool, short) from H&M last year and that was warm enough for me, even when it snowed.

sometimes I think their stuff shows lower stock because they havent got their full order in yet. i wouldnt worry about it. Im hoping I can just get away with a parka this year.
