OK pics in profile for a little while!
Pic 1 taken about a year ago.
Pic 2 Front view!
Pic 3 Shows length at sides.

Please help me. What should i do with it? Really is driving me bonkers at the moment and not sure i can go on much longer!

What about going shorter at the back and sides (nice and soft, nothing too severe) but leave the length on top. Will look fuller and more of a style, and the top will be easier to grow down if you want to.

Monty100 · 03/08/2010 20:47

Do you put nice little clips/hair band etc, to take away the boredom. I like it when I'm growing mine and I can start to pin it up and do things with it.

Mine is short at mo but getting bored with it.

Tortoise · 03/08/2010 20:50

I don't have any clips or hairbands but have tried with DD's and TBH it looked silly!

Not sure about going shorter at the back or sides. Been growing it for so long not sure if i want to cut any off.

Really need a style to either go for or aim towards with a bit more growth!

Definitely shorter at the back so it grows down in a sort of bob.
I feel your pain, having grown out short crop.
It's now long enough to put rollers in (!)- just keep tidying it up.

MarionCole · 03/08/2010 20:54

You're not far off being able to bob it (cutting the back to the same length as the sides)

BitOfFun · 03/08/2010 20:56

Don't cut it off! You are only about six months away from a decent length.

Tortoise · 03/08/2010 21:00

I had thought about a bob but having never had one, i wasn't sure if one would suit me.

Borrowed a friends straighteners today because the back curls up round at the sides!

Louis David Something choppy like this?

carriedababi · 03/08/2010 21:11

hello tortoise

a. don't cut, your nearly there
b. have it chopped up a bit,but not particually shorter
c.how about some dark blonde subtle highlights, i think would go well with your hair colour skin tone and eyes?

I would opt for a bob, it's still about growing it, but it would help to get the different lengths to catch up with each other.

DrivenToDistraction · 03/08/2010 21:28

The problem is that it's (almost exactly) the same length all over. It'd look much better and more like longer hair if you shortened the back and had some choppy layers put in.

Now it looks like a long 'short hairstyle' whereas it could easily look like a short 'long hairstyle'. Does that make any sense?

ZZZenAgain · 03/08/2010 21:31

I think you have to hang in there a bit longer

winter soon, you can stick it under a hat

DrivenToDistraction · 03/08/2010 21:33

Here, the model is about 12 but this wouldn't need you to lose much length. Would be grand for growing out and makes a bonus from your curling-out-ends too

Tortoise · 03/08/2010 22:00

Thanks.
Sounds like i need to hang on in there a bit longer. May go to the hairdressers for a trim.

Just wanted to add my sympathy as I am in exactly the same situation but perhaps 2 months ahead of you. I too have been wondering about how I can style it before it gets to the desired length, as it just looks so rubbish at the moment. I'm hoping, as carriedababi suggests, to get some blong highlights put in soon and I've just started being able to tie it back with the help of some kirby grips.

It seems like a long slog ahead though. I also tried to grow it last autumn but got bored and chopped it again, am so so so sorry that I did now!

HuckingFell · 04/08/2010 23:04

mine was a bit shorter than your current length a year ago. It is now past my shoulders in a long layered bob. Hang in there and yes deffo get the back chopped. A good hairdresser can give you a decent style even when growing it.
