I have got the worst Psoriasis on ym scalp, it looks like really bed Dandruff, i have managed to get it out the bleeding, sore stage and i really need my hair cut. WIll a Hairdresser think badly of me if i went in for a cut looking like i had been in a snow shower?

Oh poor you

Could you find a hairdresser to come to the house?

I know when my mum had an infection in her scalp she found that easier

KatyMac · 02/08/2010 22:27

Only because it hurt her when it got wet

Its not to painfull anymore im just embarrased about a Hairdresser shrieking at having to put his/her fingers on my scabby head!

It'll be fine - I just tell hairdresser straight away, mostly so they can use v gentle shampoo. They tend to know quite a lot about it, and I've never had the slightest problem, even during a bad flare-up. Just go - it'll be lovely, and you'll feel better.

I think i might just have to bite the bullet and go, my hair is driving me nuts.

yes
I have severe scalp psoriasis. I just explain as soon as I sit down that my psoriasis is bad at the moment. (no apologies, its just how it is and I want the sympathy, not them for having to deal with it!)
sometimes I've had their favourite remedy suggested to me and I just thank them for their suggestion. I've only had one bad experience with a horrid person, all the rest over the years have been kind and professional.

So glad it's not painful - then just go with what the other say

You will feel so much better when it's cut; I know I do

StealthPolarBear · 03/08/2010 07:17

I do, just tell them straight away.
The one time I forgot I was asked "have you burned your scalp?" - so concerned rather than disgusted.
Washing your hair first helps (as I'm sure you know).
I still hate going though
