Dorothy Perkins? Depends on your size - I am a 16 and theirtall jeans are usually ace.

Gigantaur · 31/07/2010 22:10

how long?

You can get up to a 34 inside leg up to a size 24/26 in New look. or the tall range goes up to a 36 inside leg but only up to a size 18

they go up to 36 and size 22 in dorothy perkins.

Long Tall Sally do up to 36 but i think they stop at a 20 or 22.

I need a 36 inside leg in a size 24. i am yet to find them.

nannyj · 31/07/2010 22:11

Was gonna say Dorothy Perkins too! I buy my jeans from Next as i like boyfriend jeans.

BalloonSlayer · 31/07/2010 22:15

Not for me so I don't know what size. I am trying to encourage a tall friend to wear jeans. She thinks she is too big, I think she'd look great.

She is not as tall as you Gigantaur - you're 6' aren't you? - so maybe 34" will be OK

Oops meant to say thanks for the ideas

I'm a 20, with a 34" inside leg and I get jeans either from Evans (not fab, not a great range in the longer leg) or more usually online from Simply Be (although this season they hate me as they only do 1 pair of straight legged black jeans, and they've got nasty orange stitching so I'm stumped)

I shall be watching this thread for inspiration...

BalloonSlayer · 31/07/2010 22:22

What inside leg are "medium" jeans? Anyone know?

Meow75 · 31/07/2010 22:24

31" most likely for the medium, BalloonSlayer. Long would be 34" I should imagine.

tethersend · 31/07/2010 22:59

South do a tall range of jeans up to a 24; going by the reviews, the XL size is about 34" length.

BalloonSlayer · 01/08/2010 07:40

Ooh thanks.

And while I'm on the subject, what's the best jeans style for curvy women?

MilkNoSugarPlease · 01/08/2010 10:09

Ooh This thread is handy! Am fed up of Evans Never having my size...or they do but not the length!

BalloonSlayer- I Used to wear bootleg jeans, I lived in them, then I tried straight leg and everyone told me they looked so much better and bootleg were Not.Nice!

MmeRedWhiteandBlueberry · 01/08/2010 10:20

Marks and Spencers have long fittings.

serenity · 01/08/2010 10:35

M&S only do the long leg up to 18 now and they also have the shortest, most uncomfortable crotches ever.

I might be annoyed and bitter (MIL gives me £100 of vouchers every christmas and I end up spending most of it on the DCs... )

BalloonSlayer · 01/08/2010 13:29

WTF is it with only a long leg up to size 18 then?

Surely it's more likely that if you are tall you will be over size 18, not less likely? (eg a woman of 5'10" who is a size 8 is probably very underweight, and a size 20 woman of 5'10" is not as overweight (if at all) as a size 20 woman of 5'2")

i have asked both trinny and susannah and Gok that question BS. neither of them answered me

polyhymnia · 02/08/2010 18:23

It's a v good question. I'm tall (5'9'') and large (generous 22) and have never figured out why most retailers assume that, if you're a large size, you must be short with tiny legs and waist to crotch measurement - as well of course as having had a taste/style bypass.

Makes no sense, as BS says. Nor do you see many of these practically spherical women around. WHY do they do it?? Disappointing that none of the gurus Gigantaur asked replied.

On style, though have a few bootcuts still, prefer straight legs at moment. Above all HATE baggy, clown-like trousers, which is another thing some retailers think large women want!!
