home exercise thing - ideas?

I need to tone up - don't have the money, time or inclination to go to gymn, and have little space for anything too large in my tiny house, nor to be honest much money to buy one either.

Has anyone any ideas on a good all-round piece of not too expensive gym-type equipment - ideally tummy, thights, bum and upper arms need work.

Buy some good DVDs (Davina's range are all well structured and will get results), usually no other equipment required. If Davina drives you potty you can mute her so you can just follow the exercises instead!

Join us on the 30 day shred, all you need is the dvd, some weights and a mat if the floor is hard.

Another vote for 30 day shred. I have abs now! Disclaimer: My abs may still be located under a roll of fat though!

30 day shred is great - just done day 7 and already see a difference... also doing couch to 5k running podcast

You can do both with a tiny flat, I have a small flat and I am managing. Great thing about the 30 day shred is that it's ony 20 minutes of your day!

And the running podcast gets you out of the hosue which is lovely too, three times a week for half an hour.

All do-able!

bluetortoise · 01/08/2010 21:37

sorry for highjacking but which podcast do you use Chris?

ChristianaTheSeventh · 01/08/2010 22:45

Roger Ullrey 'Couch to 5k' - available free on itunes

Never heard of that but having looked on Google it sounds amazing.

I don't have anything to get a podcast on though!

and anotehr hijack... what is this 30 day shred please?

ChristianaTheSeventh · 02/08/2010 10:16

30 day shred is a really good DVD, I'm on day 8 today, twenty minutes of cardio and strength and abs exercises, really good. THere are three levels, I'm still on first one.

It's this one I really like it! And anyone can fit in 20 mintues to exercise in their day

without maybe a friend has an old ipod or something? have you checked you can't get podcasts onto your phone?

bodeniiiiites · 02/08/2010 10:38

after doing the 30 day shred i would still go for Davina in the long run more sustainable results

ChristianaTheSeventh · 02/08/2010 10:42

Is Davina quite hard work?

bodeniiiiites · 02/08/2010 11:00

the 30 day shred is harder work because its shorter and intense but i would say no Davina`s not that hard. I love the top fit section where you use weights and the bottom fit find the arobic one quite sweat inducing .I hadnt done any real exercise before and really enjoy it and im definately fitter and more toned

ChristianaTheSeventh · 02/08/2010 11:15

Sorry it's RObert Ullrey not Roger!

Will have a look at Davina once I've managed the rest of the shred~!
