my hair has been highlighted forever and i fancy a change to transform me into something less muttony but not mumsy or frumpy - perhaps more up to date because the number of 40ish mums with blonde shoulder length tresses is beginning to alarm me. I have had only half a head of highlights recently sonow underneath i am natural mid brown and the condition is fab so i have delayed the next hair visit untill i am feeling brave. i have a good inch of regrowth - yuk! I am fed up with the maintenance of blonde (130 for half a head)so want a rich brown broken up with a few lighter strands at the front. My question is will this be lower maintenance and will the condition improve? Btw i am fair with very blue eyes can anyone advise tone?

Lower maintenance - possibly as highlight regrowth is less obvious, but no less expensive.
The regrowth on the rich brown tint might be quite noticeable depending on your natural hair colour.
That is exactly the colour I wanted but ended up with what I could only describe as mousey brown with highlights.
