Had a c-section two months ago...working on getting back to normal, but not there yet. Having DS christened in two weeks and need to get some control underwear to flatten the big belly. Any recommendations for knickers that will do the job without cutting off my circulation will be gratefully recieved.

Gok Wan does a good range of underwear, will google and find out where you can get it from

teameric · 31/07/2010 18:29

here

Don't do knickers: flesh needs to go somewhere; you will end up with big bit above them! (I speak from experience!) A slip type thing will be better, I reckon, spanx is the way forwards!

spanx are fabulous. buy the ones that go right up to just under your bust and then there's no spill out. quite expensive but trust me worth every penny. after 2 kids I pretty much wear them everyday. couldn't exist and would have no confidence without them. they do them with shorts as well if the hips are a troublesome area as well.

another vote for spanx here, the ones that go up to your boobs and clip on to your bra, so no back boobs or overspill anywhere else!

(and they're crotchless)

I had a look and the slips looks good but at £66 they are pricey; are they really worth investing in?

tethersend · 31/07/2010 21:10

I have this and it's brilliant.

missldi · 31/07/2010 21:44

Thanks for the suggestions...just one last question; which ones are the least uncomfortable?

My one is very comfy.

What size would I need to buy? The last shorts and trousers I have bought were from M&S and a size 16. If I was buying normal knickers I would buy a 12.

Get yourself along to your local TK Maxx (I have recommended that store so often in the last few days.....I swear I don't work for them ). I have just had a tummy tuck and need to wear support knickers every day. No way was I going to fork out for 7 pairs of Spanx. So I went to TK Maxx and found the following ranges : Body Fit, Berlei and Flexees. All are brilliant, comfortable and gently smooth your tummy. And even more fabulous news - they are approx £5 a pair

Have the same question re : size as trainsetter-do you buy the size you were pre pregnancy or the next size up?
