Cheaper alternative to Bio-oil!

LOVE Bio-oil! My eczema and scar ridden skin has benefited hugely from it! Tis wonderful stuff!

But so expensive...really can't justify buying it anymore!

So is there a cheaper product that does the same thing!?

TIA

this?

HinnyPet · 30/07/2010 22:39

Phytaoil I think? Free samples on their website, just do a search for the word "free"

BoysAreLikeDogs · 30/07/2010 22:42

mega cheap on Amazon £10.90 for 200ml

MilkNoSugarPlease · 30/07/2010 22:45

Do you think the cheaper ones are the same?

My skin is scarily and annoyingly sensitive, don't want to make it flare up iygwim

Wow! that is cheap! Amazon may be the way to go!

Thank you all!

I'm with hinnypet - phytaoil is as good as bio oil (actually I'd say better!) and it's all natural unlike bio oil which is petrochemical based. It's about £10 a bottle so I'm not sure it's any cheaper but it is, imo, a far superior product. And as hinnypet said you can get free samples at the mo too

Just to put a cat among the pigeons - my dermatologist (max fax surgeon so knows what she's talking about!) says that none of them make a blind bit of difference (past giving you spots!), but only something called Dermatix (silicon gel which dries on the face and you can then put make up over if you want to) makes the look (redness and lumpiness) any better. It's even more expensive though at £30 for a tiny tube in pharmacies. I'm using it at the mo for a large facial scar and it seems to be helping, although slowly.

think the rescue oil is a good alternative

have you tried just using plain Sweet Almond Oil it has lots of vitamins in it and I would think has the same effect as Bio Oil - though the Amazon price is a bargain.

Thank you all,

Points does almond oil smell, well, almondy?! stupid q I know but the smell makes me heave!

Shush But it absolutely has made a differance to my skin! scars and scars have certainly faded and my skin is so so much better since using it!

i dont' remember it being almondy - it smells ok not too strong. I used to put it on my face at night, a lot of face creams seem to have almond oil in them. I read that its good for thickening your eyelashes too!
