help! I need "perfect" linen trousers online

I have a "thing" to go to next week where there is an expectation of a bit of effort having been taken. I am rubbish at this, and have avoided thinking about what to wear until now. I have a nice oyster colour silk top, which would look ok with a decent pair of wide legged linen trousers. My stalwart pair gave up earlier in the summer and I have no chance to go shopping before I need them.

I have looked at M&S and Next websites, but can only find those draw-string casual type. I need flat fronted and a bit smarter. Please help point me in the right direction.

Thanks. I like the shape - have you worn them without the tie belt Prole? They arent in danger of falling down without it are they?

(just watching, not a nasty biscuit, a friendly jammy biscuit)

Actually I will join in properly - how long are those trousers?

Also do they do that annoying stretching thing that linen trousers do (where they get too baggy around the waist) or will they stay the same size?

Prole, my trousers arrived today - impressively quick.
They didnt have a belt, which is fine as I wouldnt have used it anyway. I like them, and think the linen mix is actually better as they dont crease as much. I will have to take them up a little, but I'm used to that being a short arse.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow - I am going to order some now.

ASOS do free returns, don't they? Think I will try regular and long length and see which is better - will probably need long if I am going ot wear heels.

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2010 13:33

Wearing mine tody - the belted ones - you do have to undo a LOT of things in order to go to the loo!

Long length is perfect to wear with heels (5'7).
