Hi just had baby no 4 and although I was huge (she was 10lb 1 with loads of water) Id forgotton the depression of still having a massive belly. Has anyone used a band or compression garments ?
Anyone know where I can get compression stuff cheap Id like to spend no more than £30 ish.

I bought big spanx which seemed to do the trick.
With number 4 I've been totally relaxed about weight loss, ie still eating a packet of chocolate hob nobs per day, i've not lost any actual pounds but am going down in size if that makes sense ?
If I wanted the weight flab off, I could get rid of it, it's certainly no worse than baby number 2 or 3.

Is that the thing Gwyneth Paltrow recommended? I am not prg and my youngest is at school but I just have NO waist.

We met a lady on holiday with two year old twins in a bikini, washboard stomach.
My mum had twins, not a stretch mark on her, i reckon it's in your genes and it'll either be an issue or it won't, not much you can do as such.

I had my 3rd baby 10 days ago and my midwife referred me to the local Womens Health Physio on day 2. I saw her on day 3 and she confirmed I had a 9cm separation and promptly put me in a double tubi-grip going from my thighs to under my boobs to act as an external muscle wall while I got to work on repairing my own. It is fab, if very tight. DH has taken to whistling the soundtrack to Mission Impossible as I wriggle into it! She also gave me exercises for my pelvic floor/rolled pelvis and deep stomach muscles combined and will see me again in 2 weeks.

Before I went, I had sent DH on a mission to M and S to buy me support pants as I was so wobbly I was literally holding my belly so I could walk for 3 days after baby.

The exercises are not 'gym type' exercises, but doable '27' times a day ones - feeding the baby, getting out of bed, bending over etc - these are the best times to do them. She called it 'function' - when you practise the actual exercise while you are doing normal everyday functions...

If you are at all worried about a separation, get a referral - I am really pleased I was seen so quickly with the correct treatment to help my muscles knit together again. She also recommended a book called 'Lose your Mummy Tummy' which contains very similar exercises.

I think if you use something like the belly bandit for cosmetic reasons, fair enough (I have spanx....) however you HAVE to do the exercises properly and regularly or there will never be an improvement in how you look without said girdle.

I wear an Inches off - couldn't rate it higher. :)

The Tupler method will bring your abs back together if there is separation after birth.

Squidler - good to hear you are getting such great support from your midwifery team & physio. A 9cm separation is a whopper! Sounds like you have been given the same kind of support girdle that I had post-tummy tuck. They take some getting used to but work a treat in supporting you. Feels quite scary and naked when you first start living without them :o

Vicbar - rather than spend a fortune on support underwear, get yourself along to TK Maxx. They sell some great brands for bargain prices.

I know this isn't a wanted/for sale thread, but I just found a box of forgotten Agent P post natal girdles which are fab for toning up a post baby tummy (they are what Gwyneth Paltrow wore). I didn't wear the ones I have left so they are as new.
Please feel free to CAT me for details/info.

I had a Belly Bandit which I used after DD2 was born - it was an attempt to avoid feeling as low as I did about my saggy tummy after DD1 was born. Unfortunately I was sent the wrong size and didn't realise before I'd worn it for a few hours. I spite of it being too big I found it incredibly comfy and am sure it helped with my posture when breastfeeding etc. too.

It's in my loft hoping someone would like to buy it at the next NCT sale I sign up for....
