Help me buy new makeup for the new me

I have been letting myself go and it stops tomorrow.

I have an appointment Saturday for a complete hair overhall and a day in the beauty salon tomorrow.

My foundation has all been used up - I use Chanel Vitalumiere . I have not been wearing any makeup for weeks and my skin is now much nicer. I am therefore thinking that I would maybe like a tinted moisturizer. But how does it stay on without powder? I tend to use a mixture of Chanel and Benefit products.

I am 35, I will have dark chocolate brown quite short hair with copper hughlights. I have quite pale skin although there is a hint of colour.

I think I had Orgasm by Nars a while back, I will look into that again.

Do you put a powder over your tinted moisturizer

Thankyou.

I think I need an afternoon in a department store.

biy a really nice eyeshadow no point in spending money in something that doesn't show

colditz · 29/07/2010 22:51

You MUST buy a sleek palette

MUCH better than the budget price would lead you to believe

MarineIguana · 29/07/2010 22:57

Bobbi Brown foundation-type things are good. But I've recently been trying cheaper ones and the new "Une" range at Boots is really nice. "Skinglow" I think is the one I have. I use a bit of powder on top just on the shiniest areas like nose and chin.

I have your colouring and I love Benefit Dandelion blusher and Stila eyeshadows. I love their "Diamond Lil" which is a kind of shimmery taupe.

draftywindows · 29/07/2010 23:12

I have a Benefit blusher at the moment - infact I have 2. I think one is Dandelion and the other is the dual one with a highlighter and a darker colour.

Gosh that is a bargain colditz.

have you considered lilylolo mineral make up?

colditz · 29/07/2010 23:27

it's gorgeous honestly.

I generally don't like cheap make up as the pigmentation can be a bit 'off' but this is lovely, the colours are strong and it glides on nicely.

I have just switched from Lilylolo[which was nice on but i became allergic to it after 4 weeeks]back to clinique almost make-up.Its a very sheer oilfree foundation and is very natural. The lilylolo eyeshadows are brilliant however and can be used wet as an eyeliner.

draftywindows · 30/07/2010 08:34

I did use lilylolo on the recomendation of a mumsnetter a few years ago actually. I wanted a more dewy look for summer though.
