Chanel anyday.

I slapped some diorskin nude on in John Lewis but it just didn't have the same magical qualities. But I am a dry skinned harridan.

apple99 · 29/07/2010 20:53

Chanel. Have only just started using Chanel vitaluniere recently and I really love it, goes on so nicely and really does make my skin look lovely and also I love the smell of it.

YourCallIsImportant · 29/07/2010 20:56

Another Chanel fan here, but I haven't tried the Dior one so can't compare the two.

moragbellingham · 29/07/2010 21:34

Isn't the Diorskin Nude neary £60

NomDePlume · 29/07/2010 21:38

diorskin best imo. I hate the chanel one. I bought it in a tizzy of MN review induced shopaholicism (?!) and in realty it made me look clammy faced. Not nice.

The Dior one is much more natural and gives a lighter, more comfortable coverage.

navyeyelasH · 29/07/2010 22:13

it depends on your skin, the Chanel is quite heavy for dry skin imo and Dior is more for balanced/combination skin types.

littlemissindecisive · 30/07/2010 07:39

Thanks - will have another ponce around the beauty counters and see. (Went the other day and no sales assistants around as they finish before the store closes )

I'm sure dior isn't £60......if it is it will definitely be Chanel..I thought they were both around £30, thats enough for me to spend on some make-up.

Anyone got the new Dior mascara while i'm on? Love the diorshow stuff

Another vote for Dior here.

I find the Chanel V too heavy. The Dior is brilliant and really lasts all day despite the heat.

The new Totale Capture is £60.00 but the DiorShow Nude thankfully isn't. I'm making a point of not asking for a sample of the new stuff. Unless a product turns me into Heidi Klum there's no way I could justify paying £60.00.

If you want a little more coverage than the Diorshow but less than Chanel V try Lancome Color Ideal.

Recently stubbled across a brilliant bargain foundation in Tesco as I needed a darker shade
and didn't want to spend £30.00. Barbara Daly oil free foundation. Excellent coverage akin to the Diorshow but only £7.00.

Amandoh · 30/07/2010 08:14

Stubbled? I meant stumbled of course.

all thanks to mumsnet

hobbittoes · 30/07/2010 11:03

I did the same as nomdeplume - and find them both quite similar - same kind of coverage, weight and price............I like them both and couldn't choose one over the other.

moragbellingham · 30/07/2010 16:56

Amandoh - thanks for confirming the prices.

I may go back to the Dior counter and pretend it wasn't me who ran away in shock at the price of the Totale Capture!

AlaskaNebraska · 30/07/2010 17:06

Ha Ha Morag. Yes, go back. Ask for a sample though. Most counters are happy to oblige.

Also, tell the assistant that you're incredibly jealous of their super long eyelashes. This ought to bag you another couple of samples.
