I have in my mind a dress which is:

-knee length or longer
-plain
-has (long) balloon sleeves
-size 16-18

Does it exist or shall I learn to sew?

Help me o wise ones...

It sounds like the sort of thing Whistles sometimes do.

tethersend · 28/07/2010 10:39

Whistles dresses seem really short at the mo... have to have knee length- dodgy thighs

Ted Baker had a gorgeous one in this Summer, silk lovely black/white design, floaty and so so comfy with balloon sleeves! Cant send you the link unfortunately as have limited internet access here, but I know its on their website and John Lewis can deliver! I bought one and love it to pieces!

Maybe buy a sleeveless one and then get a dressmaker to add on the sleeves? I know nowt about sewing though, so whether or not this would be possible, I have no idea!

The White Company did loads of stuff like that last AW - I'll have a quick look.

Jaeger

dexter73 · 28/07/2010 10:52

The Jaeger dress is lovely! What is their sizing like?

BelligerentGhoul · 28/07/2010 10:54

I like that Jaegar one in an Abigail's Party sort of way. HOW MUCH pre-sale though? I am gob-smacked.

traceybath · 28/07/2010 11:12

I think jaeger sizing is pretty generous so would size down generally.

tethersend · 28/07/2010 11:48

Thanks tracey- not keen on the Jaeger one I'm afraid; it's not the shape I had in mind. I think I'm after this sort of shape sleeve only on a longer length dress. Cheers for looking.

Belligerent, that's a really good idea about attaching sleeves to a sleeveless dress; I hope to find something ready made, but will keep that in mind.

Serendipity, I had a quick look at Ted Baker, but couldn't find anything I like because I'm a fussy cow
