I have always stuck with M and S for trousers and shirts. The shirts lasted 3 terms and I only replace the trousers due to growth.I have never had a problem. I find the uniform shops are not that good a quality.

The way my ds goes through knees, they would have to be made of Kevlar to resist his wear and tear.

DD1 will only wear Culottes, winter or summer.

DD2 wears joggers because she is 8 and in nappies and no other trousers will go over them and she can't wear a skirt because she bum-shuffles and it rides up and shows her nappies.

So I hate school uniform!

I prefer the M & S polo shirts to next. and next trousers seem a better fit than m&s

M&S for skirts, polos and jumpers (had all for last academic yr and they are all like new!) and also socks. Had a cardie from ethel austin which has worn well, a school logo cardie which is just starting to go at the cuffs after 2 yrs. Been getting tights from Next. Had trousers from Asda but they didn't last 5 minutes. Summer dresses from Sainsbury's have also lasted 2 years and still going strong. Hush puppies shoes have been really hard wearing, DD's last pair lasted the whole year.

A vote for boys trousers from Next- My DS loves teh ones with the combat pockets on the side ( they are mush more uniform -like than that sentence would suggest BTW!)
