Never using Debenhams online again

I've said it before after the last debacle where they kept sending me the wrong item and it turned out their website had the wrong item number assigned to the item and then they couldn't tell me what the item number was and said I couldn't have it as they didn't know the number.

Well I ordered some school blouses for DD 3 weeks ago. No sign of the order. I've emailed them twice and had no reply. Have just rung them up and they said that they cancelled the order as they'd run out of stock. They never bothered telling me. However they now say they've got some in stock so have reorderd, however "stock is so low so we can't guarantee that you will receive the items".

I won't hold my breath. Surely if its out of stock you shouldn't be able to order it and even if there is a one off mistake then they should at least let you know and reply to your emails.

Their online ordering service is absolute shite. I have ordered from them on three separate occasions. Twice they have got my order wrong. Once I ordered a birthday gift for my nephew and they just never bothered to send it. I emailed and phoned and they said they were chasing the order. Eventually, weeks later, they said they had sold out of that item.

Never again.

Appalling service on each and every occasion I used them. Random deliveries of childrenswear with half the stuff not there requiring lengthy phone calls every time.
Don't even get me started on their wedding gift cards.
Useless.

I had an absolute nightmare trying to return goods to Debenhams. It took nearly two months to get a refund. Never again.

I ordered a gift set from there. It arrived - two bottles of liquid in a wooden holder - packaged in a JIFFY BAG. Unsurprisingly it came broken. Phoned customer services and they literally couldn't care less. Unsurprisingly, the courier delivery I arranged didn't turn up either.

I've been a bit down on them since they falsely accused me of shoplifting as a teenager and made me leave the store - I had to write them a letter of complaint before they'd even let me back in.

I have had a lot of trouble with debenhams also.
I ordered some clothes a few weeks ago, which I attempted to return in the store. One of the items didnt have a little tag on it that they insisted it should have had. It had the main tag on it, just not the additional one they were expecting.
All I had done with the clothes was to try them on and put them straight back into the bag, so I was a bit annoyed at the amount of discussion it took before they would accept the items back. And then it took an incredibly long time for them to work out how to refund me.

I have also had orders cancelled without being informed.

I dont have any intention of using the debenhams website again.

Debenhams is just horrid all round. Staff don't give a damn, changing rooms constantly shut and filthy loos.

Give me a proper John Lewis any day.

Was once on Watchdog due to a Debenhams debacle!! Never ever use their wedding lists, it was shambolic. John Lewis in a different league, only order from Debenhams if absolutely necessary now!

It seems I was lucky then.

I popped into Debenhams last Thursday and rather liked a Rocha John Rocha trench coat. 12 was too big but no 10 in stock. Also liked a little striped cardie but again, none in my size.

Ordered both online on Sunday and they arrived this morning with no problems at all.

me too I have not had any problems - I even received my Wedgewood plates in one piece.
