Fake bake?? Or something else?

Hi everyone, I'm just looking for some wisdom on fake tans!

I've always been pretty scared of them, tbh, as I've seen the results of bad ones on friends. As a result I have no idea what I should go for.

As it's my first time (and I'm going on holiday) I don't mind splashing out a little bit on a good one. I've got a couple of questions though...

How long do they last?
Will I have streaky bits?
I only want something subtle - do they come in different, umm, strengths?
Will I have to be NAKEY when they spray me?? If not, will I have big white boobs??

And is it worth the money, overall, or should I just do something at home?

I'm Scottish so I'm normally pretty pasty...

TIA

I've become something of a fake tan addict over the last year and IMO you cannot beat a hand applied St Tropez treatment, although Fake Bake isn't bad.

So - it will last about a week but be at its best the day after the application - but if you shower every day it will probably start to look a bit patchy by day 4/5.

Fake Bake is designed to go the colour that you go when you tan so looks very natural - do tell the beautician that you want a subtle colour though as some people do want to go VERY dark.

You don't have to go naked, but obviously if you cover up then you won't have a colour there. FWIW I am very shy and modest but they see it all the time so it doesn't feel at all uncomfortable - I tend to wear an old pair of knickers then throw them afterwards

Oh and worht the money - depends how much you are paying - you can buy St Tropez mousse and a mitt (essential for even coverage) for around £20 and this would give you several applications - there are some videos on their website and useful hints and tips - maybe have a watch and see what you think

If you are doing it yourself go for Xen.. its amazing and good for pale skin as its more yellow/caramel based than orange/brown.

Just please wear gloves!!!!

If you can affrd it then go for a st tropex professional one.
