Like these perhaps?

Am thinking with skinnies or even opaques and denim mini perhaps?

Do you mean really lace up or looks-lace-up-but-has-a-zip?

I like to fold-over, but not sure it would flatter my giant ankles.

traceybath · 21/07/2010 17:39

Proper lace-up Trills - not liking the fake ones really.

Am pretty sure you don't have fat ankles.

My legs are disproportionately large compared to the rest of me, which is slim. So even if my ankles are not fat fat I don't want to emphasise them.

cybilliberty · 21/07/2010 17:48

Yes tracey despite their 'old woman who lived in a shoe' stylings I do like those.

What about those bashed up All saints style ones? Or have they had their day? in other words have Primark started doing them?

Well done on starting a thread btw!

tethersend · 21/07/2010 17:57

I have my eye on these Bonnie Tyler-esque beauties.

TrillianAstra · 21/07/2010 17:58

I do like the heel style on those - what is it called?

MarshaBrady · 21/07/2010 18:01

Tracey did you see these? now half price. Can't remember your size...

ReasonableDoubt · 21/07/2010 19:16

Ooh yeh^@Marsha. I don't do ankle boots, but they are nice^. I love Belstaff boots. Sexy.

traceybath · 21/07/2010 19:37

Marsha - bargaintastic but not my size unfortunately.

I really wanted the indigo colour on NAP.

Bought some lace ups ankle boots from topshop today and love them.

Tried on with leggings and turn-up shorts (look good) and also with skinny jeans stuffed in tops (also very good)

My DH asked why I didn't buy knee high boots I was like ' knee highs? in 2010??!!' FFS!

HowsTheSerenity · 21/07/2010 21:43

Tether - oh they are fab. I want them. I don't care if they are a tad witchy poo and I have legs the size of tree trunks. I want them!!!!

Fleecy · 21/07/2010 22:45

tracey I bought some like that last winter and jewels is right - they are so versatile and comfy and I love them loads. Get some!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 22/07/2010 09:50

I bought some from KG last year < preens > but I've never seen them on the website.

They're a bit like the AllSaints ones but with a heel.
DD calls them my 'old lady boots.'

I love lace-up boots though; had some from Clarks three years ago which really were Victorian governess style with cuban heels.

aarghhelp · 22/07/2010 10:03

If anyone can identify a good alternative to the indigo Belstaff ones, I would be very interested (where's tethersend )

traceybath · 22/07/2010 10:23

Aarh - do you know the really annoyhing thing was the indigo belstaffs were massively reduced in the US NAP sale but didn't go in the UK one.

Right off to look at topshop and All saints ones.

OP posts:
aarghhelp · 22/07/2010 10:31

Tracey - I didn't know that, but I remember you mentioning something about a sale in relation to them. Let me know what other options you find!

101handbags · 22/07/2010 11:27

traceybath - oooh I've got those, they came last week, they are gorgeous, lovely old-looking weathered leather. Lace up is the way to go!

traceybath · 22/07/2010 12:06

Oh goodie 101!

Am hoping lace-ups will solve the problem of most boots being too big on the leg without having to resort to duo's frumpy selection.

FindingMyMojo · 22/07/2010 12:52

Oh my - been waiting for lace up ankle boots to come 'back in' since mid 80's.

I like the Topshop ones but not the colour - and I'd like a proper sturdy heel please
