i want a maxi dress but after trawling the net i cant find the right one. i am a size 14/16 with 32 GG boobs so i want to be able to wear a standard bra. all the ones i like are halter neck and i dont feel supported in strappless or halter neck bras. PLEASE HELP

i have same problem as you. so watching this thread with interest. I saw a lovely one and wanted to buy it at the wknd but DH said it looked hideous, apparantly it made me look like a big purple pillar
my probs are:
boobs 32E
don't want very low neckline
need sleeves to hide flabby upper arms
I'm short at only 5ft 3-ish
also size 14/16 (but working on changing that!)

Fingers crossed someone comes on soon with loadsa links to suitable dresses for us!

there are loads of strappy (not halter neck)ones in Fenwick - don't know if they have online shopping though.

try boohoo.com, they have a pretty good range of maxi dresses, so do debenhams and monsoon if you haven'talready. Also a fab website is www.partydresses.org.uk/ , they are a price comparison website for dresses, you select what you're looking for and they compile from lots of different websites for you, taking some of the hassle out of searching!

My similarly endowed sister got a nice maxi in New Look - jersey fabric with vest type top rather than spaghetti straps iyswim. Was only about £20 and it's plain black - she put wide tan leather belt, slouchy bag and cropped denim jacket with it - and looks fab.

Have a browse through these

I tend to go for strappy and just combine with a nice bra in a matching or coordinating colour. Women have breasts and wear bras, it's not some shameful secret.
