Uber-powerful sports bra needed to reign in my pneumatic booswams...

...can anyone recommend one?

I'm a 32H (most bras seem to stop at E) and am bfing, so need extra power. Perhaps I should wear two bras at once? Or is there a supportive sports top I can wear on top of a bra?

TIA.

Have you tried any of these? www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/sports-bras

traceybath · 19/07/2010 07:26

Shock absorber running bra is excellent.

SomeGuy - how come you're an expert on sports bras?! I'm impressed you're the first one to reply!

Thanks all for your tips - Leonie, I sympathise! Was playing footie with DS the other day (thankfully he's 3 so it wasn't, like and actual match as such) and all I could think was: "I hope nobody's laughing at me clutching my bosoms!"

Shock absorber it is, then. Cheers all!

ha ha ha
i always clutch my boobs when playing footie with DS too - he thinks it's quite normal for all women to do so, presumably!
i always wear two bras for exercise at the moment because am 'between sports bras' - i realise this needs to change
off to check out the shock absorber immediately

Try Boobydoo: you can order a load of different styles and see what suits you (free returns and very reasonable postage charges). Boobydoo has LOADS of online reviews of each bra, as well. I've been happy with their service so far.

Shock Absorber is good but I prefer Pure Lime.

Ronaldinhio · 19/07/2010 14:22

shock absorber for me too

KnitterNotTwitter · 19/07/2010 14:25

I got mine from here can't remember which one it was exactly but it had hook and eye down the front so you could front open and BF...

oooh - it was this one

corlan · 19/07/2010 15:45

I use Shock Absorber as well - stops most 'boinging' . Putting are really tight lycra top
over the bra and under my t-shirt stops pretty much all of it.

Lio · 19/07/2010 15:52

I second KnitterNotTwitter: the Enell might be the ugliest garment ever made, but it is fantastic.

hatcam · 19/07/2010 19:53

There is pretty much a rule that the UGLIER a sports bra the better it works.

I once picked out a gorgeous looking sports bra in SweatyBetty and asked the shop assistant what sport it would be suitable for me to do while wearing. She looked me up and down and said 'yoga'.

A vote here for lessbounce too. I'm a personal trainer for pre and post natal and run post natal fitness classes and I always recommend the Panache Sports Bra or the Enell. Both are truly hideous looking, but your boobs won't move. The Panache goes up to a G but comes up quite big. The Enell goes up to a H, but if you put in your size and 'Best Support' into the website it'll give you the best options.

SpeedyGonzalez · 20/07/2010 00:02

Damn! I've just bought a funky-looking Shock Absorber bra on the web, hatcam. Damn, damn!

Will also try it with a supportive lycra top and hope that despite its low ugly rating, the bra does the trick.

I agree with corlan. I have a pretty large bust, and have (since high school) worn quite a hardcore underwired sports bra (Berlei is excellent - can you get that in the UK? am in Australia...) with then something that looks like the shock absorber over the top.

I love to run and this particularly form of strapping them down works a treat - they don't bounce at all and I feel so much more confident.

HowsTheSerenity · 20/07/2010 07:30

Oohh someone posted once about some hideous corset like bra that possibly starts with an E. Hopefully someone says it again as I want one. It looked like it had concrete girders and rivets for reinforcement!

And I have a shock absorber. Works quite well and I am a G cup.

heading4home · 20/07/2010 07:34

Is it Enell that you are thinking of Serenity?

I use Shock absorbers too and love them. Also have their bikini and love that too. Can go down slides, dive in etc without everything falling out

HowsTheSerenity · 20/07/2010 07:40

YES! Thats the one. I am tempted to buy one but I am somewhat concerned that it will be too tight and my boobs will pop out over the top under my neck.

hatcam · 20/07/2010 07:52

Once the Enell is on, nothing will go anywhere, not even under your neck. You will just have one big mono boob, but it won't move an inch.

catinthehat2 · 20/07/2010 08:05

LOL at Someguy stepping into an elephant trap!

greygirl · 20/07/2010 09:59

i love sportjock bras - essentailly a very tight vest - plaster your boobs to your chest ( i run and am an F cup). i like them better than shock absorber (my opinion nil else).
you get them from bourne sports. will look up link in a bit.

Patsy99 · 20/07/2010 14:04

Enell better than Shock Absorber for high impact ime. "All is safely gathered in" (as Rigby used to say about Miss Jones's bras on Rising Damp).
