My 11 yr old dd has assured me it is cool amongst her friends to want playboy stuff. WH Smith have a whole range of stationary( for back to school!) which is 'so cool mum' She had to have a bag with the logo on it on holiday, and can quickly suss out the 'fake' stuff- the bunny faces the wrong way.

Earlybird · 21/08/2005 20:03

I'm talking a real playboy bunny, not some bit of merchandising!

I know- its unbelievable- but all they see are the cute bunny pictures. Told her in no uncertain terms she wasn't getting anything, but the shelves in wh smith were almost empty so was going fast!

Alright...guess I can't entice any of you with my real life story about an encounter with a playboy bunny. Will leave it as none of you seem to be curious types....

sammac · 21/08/2005 20:33

Go on........................

Hattie05 · 21/08/2005 20:36

I used to work with an origingal playboy bunnygirl so go on early bird, i'm curious

spursmum · 21/08/2005 20:39

Can someone please explain the fascination with Playboy to me? my best friend is mad on it and she's 27. She's even convinced her dp to let her decorate the bedroom in Playboy stuff, the curtains, bedspread etc. I just don't get it!!

Earlybird · 21/08/2005 20:46

Well...if you insist! .

DD and I were flying from Denver to Chicago on Thursday, with a connecting onward flight. The initial flight was severely delayed due to bad weather, and it looked as if all of us connecting in Chicago would miss our flights. Airline personnel seated those of us with most urgent connections near the front of the plane.

DD and I were across the aisle from a busty, blonde mini Pamela Anderson type. She had a deep tan, diamond studded gucci watch, etc. Noticed when she moved that there was a playboy bunny tattooed at the base of her spine. Also noticed that she was wearing a diamond playboy bunny necklace.

She was very personable, and when the plane landed she grabbed dd by the hand and we all raced through the terminal to the next gate. We laughingly took photos together when it was clear that we would all make our connecting flights. She gave me her home and email address to send photos to. Her email address is "bunnyXX". When she said she had a modeling assignment the next day, the penny dropped that she was actually a playboy bunny.

I got home and googled her, and there are masses of sites with her photos on. Her name is Stephanie Heinrich, and she was playmate of the month in October 2001. I didn't dare click on any of the links for fear of being inundated with porno spam for eternity.......but, there's the story of my real life playboy bunny encounter! Glad you asked!

Hattie05 · 21/08/2005 21:14

wow!
and nice to hear she didn't brag about it!!

The woman i worked with had been a bunnygirl in her youth, it was my Saturday job and we were cleaners in a nursing home!!
She was still very glamourous and always unbuttoned her uniform to show off her cleavage, but used to make me laugh that there she was now a down and out cleaner. she was in her 60's.

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2005 21:31

i heard a thing aobut this on the radio: there are some schoolgirls protesting about the sale of playboy pencil cases (ffs! ) but whsmiths are saying that it's a fashion item and fine.

i'm not even anti porn, but i am certainly anti aiming porn brand products at young girls!!!!!

spursmum · 21/08/2005 21:34

That's what I mean!! I don't get how a soft porn mag, empire, what ever it is!? became a fashion trend with school kids. Someone please explain this madness!!

Gobbledigook · 21/08/2005 21:35

Spursmum are you joking?!?!? An adult decorating their room in playboy motifs? OMG!

Well, I'm with COd - thank goodness for 3 little boys!! The things I read on here about fashion etc for little girls - phew.

spursmum · 21/08/2005 21:38

Sorry not joking!!! She's got a 5 year old boy and is addicted to Playboy. Her poor dp just goes along with it. I asked what she wanted for her birthday and she said "some of the shaped cushions to go on the bed"!

snafu · 21/08/2005 21:43

Sophable - our local Catholic girl's school has banned all Playboy logo stuff - it was on the radio quite a bit recently - maybe it's the same place?

I think it's extremely tacky (sorry mummyoffour!)

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2005 21:46

tacky generally.

sinister when aimed at little girls imo!
