I wouldn't complain about girl's clothes, after seeing the boy's stuff, all girl's things look absolutely beautiful!

misdee · 22/08/2005 22:06

ah yes chandra, but would you want your 3yr old to look like a mini 16yr old?

i was posting about this the other day re boys stuff. as colditz said your choices are limited for boys stuff.
however just go them some love;ly stripey t-shirts from john lewis, nice colurs and no logos or skater crap.
have you checked out the childrens warehouse? very traditional clothes- but some nice plain sweatshirt skirts and tops whic would be great in winter with tights.

alexsmum · 22/08/2005 22:11

thats what what gets me- the dressing them like mini adults thing.

misdee · 22/08/2005 22:13

I'm rubbish at links, so here's a cut/paste job on the article I spoke of earlier in the thread. It could have something to do with why what's instore is so uninspiring...all the good stuff is sitting in customs!

More Than £50m Of Chinese Clothes Blocked

More than £50m of Chinese-made clothing heading for the UK has been blocked from entering the country.

It means some shops could run out of trousers, pullovers, blouses and other items in the coming months, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) said.

The clothing is barred from entering Europe because of a recent change to EU quotas for clothing and textiles imported from China.

A number of 2005 quotas are already full, meaning further imports of affected goods are held at ports and airports across Europe and denied entry.

Alisdair Gray, director of the BRC in Brussels, said the huge volume of barred clothing had caused a crisis for the smaller UK clothing stores.

"A small retailer has probably invested all of last year's profits in this year's Autumn-Winter collection. They have paid for their products which are now stuck in a warehouse," he said.

A new quota agreement between EU and China was signed on June 10 and ratified on July 12. It affects ten Chinese textile and clothing products.

The system was brought in to replace previous quotas which expired on January 1 this year.

Haven't been doing with Next for ages, can't stand the girls clothes. For too old and tarty IMO. Also have you seen the shoes! Heels in size ten! Urgh can't stand it!

My girls are mad for Boden at the mo, its a little expansive but with thee girls at least it gets handed down!

nikkie · 24/08/2005 00:07

Even Clarks have heels for school shoes in size8!
The sales woman was very confused when I said my dd would not be wearing them.
