Help with a capsule pregnancy wardrobe for work

Please - still in 1st trimester but have put weight on and really need to buy new clothes that skim over tummy. Usually wear suit dresses or knitted dresses with heels which can no longer wear with tummy showing! or trousers with cashmere tops but this no longer works with waistband too tight and tops too fitted. So thinking long cardigans and scarves? Have a couple of smart maxi-dresses for hotter days but really need suggestions please.

I bought a couple of basics from Isabella Oliver for work - a pair of trousers, a skirt, a shirt and some of their wrap tops. It got pretty repetitive towards the end (I was ready to burn my trousers in particular) but I wore some of my "normal" clothes as well (cardigans and jackets undone).

Well worth a look, especially because they are on sale!

I would second IO - their black stretchy skirt was a godsend, especially with a smart blouse, and I will defy you to go wrong with one of their wrap dresses!

this is helpful; I am at the same stage as Pink, no noticeable weight gain yet, but I do have a pretty smart workwear wardrobe, and while some of the tailored dresses will do me a wee bit longer, I definitely had my eye on some of the IO stuff.

How often does it go on sale?

Medee · 18/07/2010 18:17

never mind, just saw the sale is currently on!

I got through three pregnancies with 2 x widelegged pregnancy trousers from H&M in black, one longish black skirt from Blooming Marvellous, one "pencil" (bloody funny shaped pencil) skirt from H&M and five v-neck tops. It was kind of a relief not to have to flap over what I wore - as long as it was clean, I was good to go. So my tip is cheap and minimal amount of stuff.
