black dress for funeral...

ok, so i am going to a funeral next thursday and need a black dress.

i'm a size 10 biggish boobs and 5ft 5in tall.

but..im 18 weeks pg and fairly big of bump.

i'm only going to be wearing this dress once so don't want to spend a fortune on it.

doesn't have to be maternity, anything will do tbh.

There are a couple of black dresses and some other black maternity items (tunics etc) still showing in stock in the Next sale. You could maybe get up and order something in the morning when the sale is opened up to everyone.

Boden had some decent stretchy empire type dresses in black, not sure if they do atm but worth a look as would fit over a bump.

Well I think black is worn less often at funerals nowadays.

But the funeral I attended was of someone my age who had small children so was kept fairly informal.

Hope you find something suitable and the funeral goes ok.

i would feel better in black but i'm sure any dark colour would do.

Monsoon - Hailey black sort-of wrap/drape dress £27 in sale. I just bought one in size 10 to disguise a post preg gut of at least 18 weeks proportion.
Very classic,long sleeve not on the website though.

Tracey - same here but we still had to wear black. Tbh the idea of wearing it made me feel ill, like I was wearing a horrible ugly cloud of sadness.

But then bright colours would have felt wrong, too.

i'm off into town now to have a look around.
