Self grip rollers or rollers generally - volume / height for fine hair

I have fine hair. Postnatal it is looking thinner which I expected as the "fall out" happened a few months after pregnancy with baby 1 and the same thing is happening with baby 2.

Volumising shampoos and styling products are one thing. But am now looking into big rollers - old fashioned and mumsy I know but i will look into anything which works.

Anyone find jumbo rollers which work and are not tooo fiddly and time consuming. Self grip normal ones or heated? Are there any good alternatives you can sleep in (never done this yet and would have to manage DH's expectations about the horror he might feel of wife with rollers at bedtime...) Any views or recommendations generally?

Velcro ones are probably the most convenient - I don't use them often but they do give your hair a nice bounce.

My hairdresser recommended putting them in while you get read/have breakfast etc., spray with a bit of styling spray and giving a quick blast with the hairdryer, leaving them in as long as you can before going out.

Use the biggest ones at the crown and medium/small for the rest, depending on how tight you want the curls.

thanks so much for the recommendation of velcro rollers - can you suggest a brand and where I could buy them from? thanks

I use the old carmen heated ones from the 70s- they are fab.

I brought mine from Boots - they are cheap velcro rollers but give my fine hair a great boost. I dry my hair off, backcomb it a bit, put them in and add half a ton of hairspray. Then I do make-up, get the kids ready, make breakfast etc etc.

I have a load of heated rollers and velcro ones. I can't be arsed to used either tbh so I am going to give away the velcro rollers so they are yours if you pay p&p and i may sell my heated ones too!
