Recommendations for a great intensive conditioner

Have fine, dry curly hair (that probably needs a good cut), but in the meantime am looking for something heavy duty that will give it back its shine. I don't mind throwing a bit of money at it if it's just a once a week job. Any thoughts?

this one
I have very ordinary straight hair and use this once a week, the shampoo for blonde hair ( which mine is not really) and the serum, hair looks lovely and shiny, just like in the ads.

I use this one when my hair needs a pick me up.

It's fab and I always get compliements when I've used it as it really tames my frizz and adds a shine, although irritatingly it only seems to come in sachets

have you seen the curly girl method?

spotofcheerfulness · 16/07/2010 11:26

Oooh, thanks . I am such a slacker when it comes to haircare but realising that I looked like Wurzel Gummidge the other day brought me up smart. Do you use the curly girl method, Furball? Has it worked for you?

My friend is a hairdresser and she (and now me too) swears by slathering your normal conditioner onto dry hair and just leaving it on for as long as your possibly can.

I quite often to do mine early evening so it dries on, and then sleep with on. You need an old pillow case for this!!

It really works!

Aveda's Damage Remedy is good. All their stuff smells divine.

I swear by Dove. The Heat Therapy range in the red bottle. Smells lovely too.

Kerastase Masque Intense is expensive but worth it. I have very fine, dry hair and regular weekly use has had a huge impact making it shiny and thicker somehow.

A bottle of olive oil - smoother your hair and scalp with the oil and put a plastic shower cap on and wear for a few hours or to bed.

Shampoo on the hair and a good massage and then rinse in the mroning.

This is far cheaper and far better than a lot of other products - plus it is natural and has no added nasties
