why would a shop that goes down to size 6 in clothes only go to down to size 8-10 in knickers?

bit odd i think.if you buy size 6 trousers you wouldnt buy size 8-10 pants to go underneath!and they were nice knickers.

my question is why do i wear a size 10 in clothes but a size 12 in knickers? maybe the answer to your question lies there ...
(though you say 8-10 wouldn't fit)

The only shop I buy size 6 knickers in (when they have them) is M&S.
If I'm buying knickers in Topshop*, I tend to buy a size 10 despite their size 6 clothing usually being on the big size! The knickers are far more comfy and as I find they tend to shrink after a few washes, it's better to size up. I have a similar issue with Primarks 5-pack of white cotton knickers.

**I mostly buy matching sets from Freya, so only buy non-matching knickers if it's something super pretty that I want to wear in bed with a vest.

i am a 14-16 in clothes but buy 12 or 14 knickers, i carry my weight on my belly,

Because all sizes are just made up anyway, and a pair of size 8 pants is not necessarily larger than the arse on a pair of size 6 trousers.
