Can I wear white three quarter length trousers with a black short sleeved blouse and black sandals? Or will I look like something out of miami vice?

Erm...it is the sort of thing that women of a certain age tend to wear in Sainsbury's. I think white cropped trousers can look not v nice, sorry.

But if you are young and slim and beautiful it would look entirely different to the image I have in my head - maybe quite cute in an Audrey Hepburn capri-panted kind of way?

I'm none of those things janeite. In the end I wore something else (good job too by the sounds of it!)
