Hello,

Wasn't sure where best to post this so opted for stopping smoking chat

I quit smoking 7 weeks ago after getting hit with Covid and feeling like my lungs were about to collapse on me, have not touched cigarettes since and proud of myself for stopping a 20 a day habit after 25 years of smoking however, I have this awful cough which gets worse if I take a deep breath or anything and coughing up a multitude of brown shades daily and am getting breathless fairly easily

Is this a common side effect after stopping smoking or do I need to see my GP?
Thanks in advance!

Hello.

Congratulations 🥳
I'm five weeks into giving up similar amount and time span to you

I don't have a cough at all so maybe yours is from being poorly and lingering on.

Thankyou, well done to you also!! I didn't really get much of a cough with it just the pain but you could be right!
