I stopped smoking almost 2 weeks ago now, and I'm using patches for the time being. But, I'm feeling really under the weather. I seem to have all the symptoms like I would be due on. Stomach cramps, headaches, achey boobs... Is this normal? I've stopped a couple of times over the years but haven't felt like this before. Any comments appreciated :)

This is withdrawal and it affects people in different ways. I cried for 4 weeks because it felt like I had lost my best friend, hacked my guts up constantly and felt like I was constantly hungover. Persevere. I am 10 1/2 yrs down the line having smoked 60 a day for 15 and I couldn't feel better.

Oooh, but had to stop the patches as they made me have the weirdest psychedelic dreams in the world, it could be that?

It will be withdrawal and all the crap coming out your body. Well done on what you have achieved so far.

I've never had physical pains with patches but did feel a sort of general malaise, might be worth seeing your GP in case it's something else.

This is what I loved about the patches, I had amazing dreams and couldn't wait until bed time.

Thank you for your responses. I did wonder whether it might be the patches, I've decided not to go the 6 weeks with the step 1, but finish this 2nd week and go to step 2 if I feel I need them. To be honest, I've not used one everyday. My DP has stopped at the same time and they've had terrible toothache, so I suppose we're all effected differently.

Im not a heavy smoker, so didn't think it would be too bad, but habit is the biggest thing to try and break for me. I find myself struggling the minute I get in the car, or if I've had a big dinner. I'll get there, but it's tougher than I thought, especially feeling the way I do
