That's it really. Hoping not to replace with food & gorge myself all day long, but I work from home, and am already finding it hard to stay away from the fridge!

Anyone else in?

Just concentrating on not smoking at the moment. I'm on 18mg at the moment so will probably reduce to 12 mg if I can get through until the end of March.

Calendar is a really good idea! I've got the NHS app.

flapinko · 08/02/2016 09:45

How did everyone get on this weekend? I totally failed on my Friday night out. In my defence, it was a rather intimidating night out, with loads of people we didn't really know (lots of smokers too!) and my DH caved first (although have to admit, I was right behind him!). So not much of a defence I know, but I have been back on the wagon since Friday.

So this is a new Day 3 for me. I am seriously aiming to get past day 5 this time & think I will do the smoke-free calendar baking suggests. Nice to 'see' the efforts of your hard work sometimes.

How's everyone else?

Still hanging in in there, but I've not been out.

Flapinko- really good that although you caved at least you didn't start properly again.

MoBro · 08/02/2016 13:51

I can't get past day three! I'm annoyed at how hard I'm finding it! I did a day and a half with no nrt and had two today! I drank water, went for a walk, did housework, bought a load of chewing gum and sweets but the craving was too much! I was told bout redundancy a couple of weeks ago so hopefully when I have a new job and not so anxious I will be in a better frame of mind though I'm sure I'll have another excuse!! Hoping to hear back from an interview today so wish me luck! X

flapinko · 08/02/2016 15:26

Thank you Louie, keep hanging!
Day three is really hard isn't it Mo? Anxiety doesn't help either.

Good luck with the job - keeping fingers crossed for you.

I found day 3 surprisingly easy, 4 really hard, caved on day 5 so no calender colouring for me!

I have to be out of the house to cope and the weather's been awful. I'm starting a new day 1 tomorrow. I was thinking of waiting until I'm back in work but that's not until Saturday now (childcare issues) and it's ages away

Good luck today Mo. Hope it went well.

flapinko · 09/02/2016 14:13

Day 4 for me again.
How's your Day 1 going baking?
Hope all ok with you too Mo?
Still hanging Louie?

Confession time: I have just gobbled up not one, not two, but THREE of my kids' Moam bars (party leftovers).

God they're good! Very more-ish. (Very moam-ish?).

I DON'T recommend Blush.

Still in the eating anything I can get my hands on stage, clearly! When does that end? Does anyone know? I'm gonna be the size of house if I carry on this way..

Yay for day 4.

Hanging on in there but. Still resisting the urge to just have one.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

LouieLou2013 · 09/02/2016 14:54

I'm still eating!

Looking at joining slimming world once I've got my head around not smoking. My jeans are getting tighter by the day.

flapinko · 10/02/2016 20:21

Day 5 almost done. Sugar consumption continues apace. Will have to start a 'Quitting Maoams' thread next.

Anyone else still out there?

OP posts:
LouieLou2013 · 11/02/2016 12:14

Still here, still vaping. 41 days now.

My sleep was really off for the first couple of weeks, that has settled down but I'm still eating for England! Need to join slimming world before it gets out of hand.

Well done for day 5 and day six today, first week is the hardest!

bakingcupcakes · 15/02/2016 07:45

I don't think I'll ever get to day 5. I'm smoking so much less but I keep having to start day 1 again. It's making me angry cos I'm finding it so hard. Maybe I need to work f/t! Work days are so much easier as they think I don't smoke (or vape) and I'm out the house all day. It's being home that's the problem but spending all day around the shops is costing a fortune..

I haven't been back on here (too ashamed) Glad you two are still going strong. Got a new day 1 today (renewed motivation after Call the Midwife last night.) My calender looks like a patchwork. Odd days coloured here and there!

PurpleElla · 15/02/2016 09:32

Hi, I'm on day six of quitting smoking, after many, many attempts over the last six months, never got this far before though so feeling positive. Day three and four were pretty tough but it's feeling a little easier now.

I'm using an ecig and have discovered Blue Alien liquid which is lush and keeping me going.

Baking Cupcakes, sorry to hear you're struggling to get to day five, as I said three and four are tough days so perhaps if you keep that in mind it will help you push through? Also looking at your previous post you seem to have given yourself permission to fail tbh, saying you can start the calendar again if you fail. I think saying that makes it easier to smoke. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

flapinko · 22/02/2016 17:53

Day 17 for me. My Vype has been my saviour. I think I thought I could do the quitting thing without vaping to begin with. Mistake. I was so depressed. Now I vape every now & again but not often (mostly in the evening) but just knowing it's there, I feel SO much better.

My [over] eating has calmed down too, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. It has taken the better part of a fortnight to be able to get to this stage though.

Purple, Baking, Louie, MoBro - how are you all doing?

PurpleElla · 23/02/2016 06:58

Day 14 here, which after several false starts is absolutely brilliant. It's not been easy, and I'm still getting the odd, really urgent craving to deal with. Thank goodness for my vape. Blue Alien and Freezy Mango flavours are saving the day!

bakingcupcakes · 23/02/2016 14:29

I'm on day 9 today. Smile Really pleased with myself. I'm vaping in the evenings still but I'm planning to try the 6mg liquid again soon - on 12mg now. I'm not convinced vaping is that safe and I don't want to do it long term. I wouldn't have got this far without it though.

Well done Flapinko and Purple. You're both doing fab!

magimedi · 23/02/2016 16:23

Well done everyone!
