Allen Carr's hundred-cigarettes-a-day addiction drove him to despair, but after countless attempts to quit he discovered what the world had been waiting for: the Easy Way To Stop Smoking.

Now recognised as the world's leading expert on helping smokers to quit, Allen's informative, no-scare-tactics methods and techniques are a revelation for those desperate to kick the habit.
2015 marks the 30th anniversary since this ground-breaking book's first publication. It has been published in 15 languages worldwide and has sold 1.3 million copies in the UK alone.

Allen was a smoker himself, but came up with a method that helped him to quit, along with millions others since the book's publication 30 years ago. His books have helped an estimated 25 million people stop smoking. Allen's technique uses no gimmicks or 'crutches' like e-cigarettes, so it is a much healthier way to quit.

Anyway interesting to see that he has written several other self help books too; alcohol, flying and weight loss. Anyway will update later on how I get on with this one first..
Thank you again!

Is he as infuriatingly smug throughout? The introduction is just one long sales pitch and I almost found myself thinking 'well this won't work on me' just to prove him wrong!

Yep he is!

And yes it is a sales pitch, its like a form of written hypnotherapy, and while it didnt work for me, I do know people it has worked for. Interestingly, I know many men who it has worked for but of the women I know who tried it, only one said it worked for them, thus proving what we have all known all along, they are more suggestible than us :o

I was recommended this book by a long time smoker who has successfully quit and gave it to my Dad, a die-hard smoker, to review in the hope it might work its magic! He persevered with it, even though he was not in the right frame of mind to quit. It's appeal is that you are actually permitted to smoke as you read the book. My Dad found it repetitive, but I imagine that is the key to drumming message in each time you smoke. He said it was a good book. I guess what it proves is that you still need to actually want to give up!

I was picked by MNHQ to review this book, which I received for free. This review is in my own words and reflects my true opinion.

nushcar do you think he might be interested in trying an ecig? It's the best quit option for people who don't actually want to stop smoking IME.
