Can't deal with partner's anger while he quits

I'm pregnant and my partner is quitting smoking. My hormones mean that tears well up at the slightest provocation and I can't deal with his temper anymore. Whenever he tries to quit, I try to not annoy him but sometimes I can't help myself and if he snaps at me I snap right back and then burst into tears and before I know it we're screaming at each other.

I'm just at a loss. does this pass soon? It's day one of bis latest go and we'fe already had a shouting match.

For some people it'll pass quickly, for some it will take weeks. I bet you've done the old 'Well if you're going to be this bad just go and buy some cigerattes!'.

Be patient with him, the first week will be a real struggle for him!

As rb says it varies a lot.

He needs lots of space and he needs to take responsibility for not inflicting his temper on you. Do you have other DC? Can you suggest he goes out for a walk when he's being like this or do you need him around for parenting?

Good luck to you both!
