Just wondered which liquid you use? I've tried various brands, 18mg and 12mg. I find them too harsh on my throat so tried 6mg and it's like smoking air. I just wondered if there is anything else I can try. I want e cigs to work for me Hmm

i use Drummer, from Vaping vision, which comes in a bottle labelled Instrument, oddly.

and from Vapour Trail I love old English.

But i think if you go on vaping threads you will find that vaping often hurts throats, you need to do it right differently than smoking, a slower puff

Hi SillyBlueHat - just about everyone here is either an ex tobacco smoker or trying to give up tobacco!

Off hand & early in the morning, I can think of 3 reasons why you could be finding it harsh on your throat:

Many vapers, especially new vapers, find they need to drink an awful lot more than before. This usually goes away after a while, but try making sure you have a glass of water or something next to you all the time.

You could be vaping with a "smoking" technique. The main differences between smoking & vaping are that you take much slower draws when vaping; and that rather than vaping constantly for 5-10 mins like you would when smoking a fag most vapers take just a few draws at a time but more frequently.

The other possible reason that comes to mind is that the mix doesn't suit you. The base fluid consists of VG (vegetable glycol) and PG (propylene glycol), VG produces more smoke & PG give more of the "throat hit". Most liquids are 70/30 PG/VG or even 80/20 PG/VG, and you might find it better using a liquid that's 50/50 or even just VG. I can't off hand remember which suppliers make the lower PG liquids & need to be out shortly, but I'm sure others with the same problem will be on later to make some recommendations Smile.

So - try the 1st 2 suggestions first & if they aren't the issue then track down lower PG liquids.

Thank you for the messages.
Am going to a specialist shop to get a new ecig as mine drives me loopy, it won't ignite most of the time.
Need to practice smoking slowly and in the meantime will get the lower pg liquid online. I think my local shop only stocks one sort of liquid.
Feeling determined!

It's possible you have screwed the clearomiser on too tightly at some point and pushed the centre pin of the battery down - that would cause it to stop firing reliably. See if helps.

I smoked rollups for many years. I got the horrible itchy cough and phlegmy throat for a week. I was trying to use the ecig like it was a cigarette (naturally) and it caught in my throat. Now, after about a week and a half, I'm drawing slowly on menthol juice at 14mg and it just feels lovely, no coughing at all, and no phlegmy business.

Keep at it!

Another ex rollie smoker here.

I've been vaping for 21 months & only like tobacco flavour - I vape The Sherlock from www.ecigwizard.com
