The mystery of the disappearing ohms

Vaping using a fully charged MPV and iclear 16b clearo last night when all of a sudden I was getting a dead hit.

I did all the usual checks, blew out the clearo, tightened the coil (couple of days old) and gave it a wipe. I ended up changing it and leaving it upside down in a sponge overnight in case it was flooded.

It's still dead and reading between 0.4 and 0.6. None of the other 16bs have ever done this. When they need changing the liquid tastes burnt. Does anyone have any ideas? Confused

I think some coils are just duff!

You have a short somewhere. Probably one of the 'legs' of the coil is touching the side of the atomiser housing where it shouldn't be. It won't fire because the mvp is protected against too low resistance as it can damage the battery. You could try dismantling it and nudging the coils back into a more central position with tweezers. I have never meddled with a bottom dual coil though and don't know how easy this would be. Whatever you do don't pull the metal pin and silicone bung out of the bottom or the coils will come out altogether.

Thanks Plenty. Good to know I haven't damaged the battery.

Love these clearos but the coils aren't rebuildable so I think I shall just write it off as duff as Raia says!
