I wish my stepson was old enough to understand what marriage is

Because I'm marrying his dad and I know he'd be well chuffed.

My SO proposed to me earlier today. I can't tell you how surprised I am. Not sure why I'm posting this here because I've never gotten much support, but I just want to share it.

Aww congrats. How old is he? Little kids understand things, even though they might not really ‘get’ them fully. So he might still understand. Maybe also get some nice photos or something done to commemorate then he’ll be equally chuffed when he’s older to see he was a part of it. When I married DH we had a photo done with ds & dd and dd has a copy of it in her room, she used to say ‘that’s when I got my dad.’
