Hi, my partner and I are having a baby due in a couple of months. He has a daughter who is 5 who lives with us. Wondering what kind of gift we can get her from the new baby...any ideas welcome.

ThanksSmile

Maybe a babydoll so she could be a mummy as well.

DSD was 7 when I had DD. We didn’t get her a gift but we did make sure she was involved as much as possible in things like name discussions and we made sure we didn’t send her off to her mums for any extra time when DD arrived (thankfully she arrived on a day that DSD wasn’t with us but DH picked her up as normal the next day). She was the first to meet DD. She was a bit clingy for a while especially to me - kept asking me to play with her just to check that I still would. What also helped was our family and friends making a big fuss of her- almost all of them had a new baby gift and a big sister gift.

Sorry- I realise that isn’t what you asked Blush

Some good tips though thank you. I do wonder how it will change the dynamics and making sure she doesn't feel pushed aside or left out

Something she really wants or maybe intricate play...dont know if sylvanians are too old for 5 or polly pocket /playmobil set /,dolls House../post office ..
Something she can get involved in and you can join in from a distance...
Other option scooter so she can scoot to school whilst doing school run...do you know what peers have got????

I don’t have step children but when I had my second a friend bought both of them the same soft toy, but a smaller version for the baby. My son was younger than your sd but he’s nearly 4 now and he loves that he and his sister have the same teddy.

My SC got gifts from family and close friends of mine when my baby got given gifts. Then random gifts in the following year from my DD.

A personalised t shirt or something with big sister written on it.
